Take a guided walk through Penåsa Alvar and explore the orchids, geology, and cultural history of southern Öland in early summer.
Penåsa Alvar is part of a rich and varied landscape where cultural history meets wild nature. This guided walk covers a few kilometers at an easy pace, with the route adapted to current weather and blooming conditions.
Your guide will share knowledge about orchids and the plants adapted to alvar conditions. You will also learn about the area’s geology, history, and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Southern Öland’s Agricultural Landscape.
We meet at the Penåsa parking area. Pre-registration is required. The walk is cancelled if fewer than 5 people are registered, with a maximum of 20 participants per tour.
Bring something to sit on if you like. You should wear weather-appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes.
